Right handed but use left foot for b pedal?

I've noticed when I play rockband or use a drumset, that I can't quite use the b pedal with my right foot (I'm right handed.) Typically my right leg tends to want to lock up on me when I try and do rapid hits, but my left leg can do this much easier. So is it ok to use your left leg for the b pedal when your right handed?
